Many thanks must go to May and Alan Potter for running the club over the past 20years, May as secretary and Alan as Chairman; I am sure the whole club will join me in wishing May a speedy and full recovery following her recent illness, and Alan the patience of a saint; keep up the good work. Good health to you both we look forward to serving you tea at the meetings. Thanks for all the help handing over.
At a recent meeting of the former committee at which the following stood down ; Alan Potter, John Woods, Mrs May Potter, Mrs Ann McGovern, Mrs Jean Bull & Mrs A E Smith; a new committee was formed as follows: Chairman Mrs Brenda Stone, Vice Chairman Mrs Eileen Kirk, Secretary Mrs Kathy Roberts, Treasurer Mrs Rita Smith, Members representatives Mrs Madge Kirk &
Mrs Val Simpson. Thank you to all outgoing committee members for your support and hope to see you at meetings to enjoy the afternoon’s entertainment from the other side of the table.
With the help and support of a good friend Pauline Eaton I have taken on the role as secretary to the club we hope to meet you all soon, a lot of you will already have seen me at various functions about the villages, Pauline is a bit more of a newcomer having lived in Langrick for some years. We will need your full support as members to keep this club as active and vibrant as it has been in the past, without members there is no club.
Thank you to the new committee members for your support, we look forward to working with you all.
First meeting of the club this year will be held on Thursday 14th April at Brothertoft Village Hall
2pm – 5pm, the mini bus will be running for those members without transport in out lying areas as usual.
Club Bingo and membership registrations will be held not forgetting the afternoon tea, good company and anything else I have forgotten I am sure someone will remind me!
We look forward to meeting members old and new on the day.
